About My Philosophy of Dog Training

The Power of Pawsitivity is here to give hands-on support for all of your dog's training and agility needs.  We do this by using a game-based system of positive training.  The goal is to bring joy to you and your dog's relationship.

At The Power of Pawsitivity Dog Training we follow the Ethics Guidelines of both CCPDT and IAABC organizations.  This includes LIMA (Least Intrusive/Minimally Aversive processess).  We use a marker system and reinforcement for teaching skills.  Our job is to teach your dog how to be a well mannered companion.  At The Power of Pawsitivity Dog Training we do not promote, condone, or permit the use of correction-based training tools for the dogs enrolled in our training programs. This includes the use of tools such as prong collars, choke collars and/or shock collars (including  invisible fence collars).  We do use harnesses/collars/leashes for safety and management.  If needed for an individual dog, we may introduce a walking tool including martingale collar/balance harness or perfect pacer collar.  We are committed to teaching your dog with a fun game-based method using the science of behavior change.  Effective? Absolutely! Ask our clients and look at the success of our dogs in competition, service and therapy work.
